LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The LaGrange College baseball team lost 18-11 at Covenant College in Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) action on Friday at Covenant Baseball Field in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Down 4-0 in the top of the second, LaGrange sophomore designated hitter Erick Rodriguez (Lilburn, Ga.) got the Panthers on the board with a two run home run to center to cut the lead to two. Three batters later, freshman outfielder Matthew Brown (Marietta, Ga.) hit an RBI single up the middle to drive in graduate outfielder Jorge Fragoso (East Point, Ga.). Finally, an RBI triple by senior shortstop Jackson McElvy (Kennesaw, Ga.) would tie it up.
- Down 6-4 in the top of the third, an RBI groundout by Rodriguez plated senior third baseman Colin Jones (Duluth, Ga.). On the very next at-bat, Fragoso hit an RBI single to score freshman outfielder Tanner Morneau (Marietta, Ga.), tying the game up at 6-6.
- Down 7-6 in the top of the fourth, Brown led off with a solo home run to tie it up once again.
- Down 8-7 in the top of the sixth, an RBI single from senior first baseman Curt Bonner (Cartersville, Ga.) with the bases-loaded drove in Brown. On the very next at-bat, McElvy and freshman second baseman Collin McGhee (Ball Ground, Ga.) scored from third on an error to give the Panthers their first lead of the game. Finally, a sacrifice fly by Morneau scored Bonner to put LaGrange up 11-8.
- The Panthers led 11-10 in the bottom of the eighth and were one out away from closing out the inning. The Scots answered with eight runs as an error led to a collapse by the bullpen.
- Bonner went three-for-fourth while Brown also posted three hits.
