ATLANTA, Ga. – The LaGrange College baseball team lost 8-7 at host Emory University in a non-conference bout on Tuesday afternoon at Chappell Park in Atlanta, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to an RBI double from senior left fielder Curt Bonner (Cartersville, Ga.), a run scored on a wild pitch and a sac bunt from senior catcher Carson Burgamy (Woodstock, Ga.)
- The Eagles knotted things up at three-apiece in the third inning when Jonathan Lang (Dallas, TX) ripped a 2RBI single down the middle.
- Sophomore outfielder Dylan LeMorta (Oviedo, Fla.) put LC back in front with a sacrifice flyout. Freshman shortstop Collin McGhee (Ball Ground, Ga.) tabbed another run for the Panthers with his midfield single to put the good guys up 5-3. Emory notched a run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 5-4 in favor of LaGrange.
- Redshirt freshman outfielder Matthew Brown (Marietta, Ga.) added another insurance run for the Red and Black, who now led 6-4 after six innings.
- The game completely shifted in the seventh inning as the Eagles took the lead for the first time in the contest, now up 7-6.
- Bonner's clutch sacrifice groundout in the ninth forced extra innings and a chance for LC to come home with a big road win.
- Unfortunately for LaGrange, the Eagles mustered the single run needed to win the game and stopped the visiting Panthers from getting anymore across the plate as they endured just their third loss of the season.
