Men’s Basketball Stopped at Piedmont

DEMOREST, Ga. – The LaGrange College men's basketball team lost 87-73 at Piedmont University in Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) action on Tuesday evening at Cave Arena in Demorest, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Panthers were down by just one at halftime, 29-28. But the Lions surged ahead in the second half, going up by as much as 20 to pull away.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • LaGrange junior guard Devin Dowell (LaGrange, Ga.), last week's CCS Player of the Week, led the Panthers with 20 points with five rebounds in just 22 minutes.
  • LaGrange junior guard Austen Colton (Sharpsburg, Ga.) continued to show why he's one of the most dangerous three-point shooters from behind the arc in the conference, going four of eight and finishing with 17 points. Senior guard Micah McAllister (Newnan, Ga.) finished with 13 points and nine rebounds with two steals.
  • Piedmont sophomore guard Jackson Houston (Suwanee, Ga.) led the Lions with 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
  • Piedmont junior guard Israel Hall (Simpsonville, S.C.) posted 18 points and six boards in just 20 minutes.
