HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Red and Black continued to inch their way closer to the finish line, but could not create any significant momentum to enhance their advantage to any more than three as they led 47-44 heading into the final frame.
- The Panthers finally begun to create some separation in the fourth quarter, as senior guard Amanda Mclendon (Orlando, Fla.) helped extend her team's lead by as much as 11 with under five minutes remaining in the contest. That burst would be enough as LaGrange rolled to a 65-58 win and bolstered their conference-best record to 8-1.
