Panthers pick up first win of the season in conference battle at Brevard

Brevard, N.C. - The LaGrange College Men's Lacrosse Team (1-4, 1-2 USA South) tasted sweet victory for the first time this season, besting the Brevard College Tornados (2-8, 0-3 USA South) by a final score of 21-7 on Friday (Mar. 21).

Game Summary
The first period was all-LC, as they took advantage of penalty trouble by the hosts with a pair of goals from Nicholas Murciano and Aiden Psalmonds. Despite a quick response from Brevard to cut the two-goal deficit in half, the Panthers dominated offensively with a six-goal burst to end the opening period up 8-1. LaGrange was able to hold their command of the game as they led 11-2 heading into the locker rooms.

The second half saw much of the same, as the visiting Panthers continued to find the back of the net. When it was all said and done, eight different players in the Red and Black had notched goals as LC claimed their first win of the season over their conference foes 21-7.

Panthers of the Game
Murciano, Psalmonds and Adam Jones each had a monster of a game, combining for 15 goals off of 21 shots on goal (five goals, seven SOG-apiece).

Netminder Jonah Polhemus received credit for the win, stopping four Tornado shots in the first half. Hunter Ransom, who started the second half, led both teams with six saves for a solid showing in cage for LC.
