LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - LaGrange crushed Covenant 14-2 and 18-8 on Monday to open the Collegiate Conference of the South portion of the 2025 schedule. The Panthers have won four straight, improving to 9-11 on the season.
Game 1: The Panthers exploded for nine runs in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach. LC had nine hits in the inning, send 13 batters to the plate.
Kayla Helms had two hits in the inning, including a bases-clearing triple, and four RBIs.
LaGrange had19 hits in the game.
Jaselyn Couch had four hits, including a triple, scored two runs and drove in a run. Helms finished with three hits and five RBIs. Alexa Gonzales had two doubles included in her three hits, scored four runs, and had an RBI.
Claire Chamberlain got the win in the circle, allowing a run on four hit in six innings. She walked four and struck out five. Lillie Rae Fulford pitched the final inning to close out the win.
Game 2: LC broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run third inning and went on set a season-high for runs in a game.
Cannon Ramsey's three-run home run highlighted the breakout inning. The Panthers used a six-run fifth inning to build a 13-3 lead. They added five more runs in the top of the seventh to close out their scoring.
LaGrange banged out a season-high 21 hits in the game. Ramsey tied with Gonzalez with four hits, including the home run, and five RBIs. Gonzalez had a double included in her hits and drove in three runs. Chamberlain and
Breonn Newbille each had three hits which included a double. Chamberlain had three RBIs.
Jenna Yeary pitched the first four innings to get the win. She allowed three runs, all unearned, did not walk a batter and struck out two. Fulford surrendered four runs, only one earned, in two innings of work.
Maddie Chauvin pitched the seventh inning.
