LC Lacrosse falls in home-opener on Sunday

LAGRANGE, Ga. - LC Men's Lacrosse (0-1) found themselves on the losing end of a tough battle on Sunday (Feb. 16), falling to SCAD-Savannah (1-0) in a 9-7 final from Panther Field.

Game Summary
The Panthers trailed 2-1 after the first quarter of play, with Tristan Cuda netting the team's first goal of the season. Simon Belford scored back-to-back goals for LC late in the second quarter to tie the game up at three-apiece with 9:54 left in the first half. SCAD ended the half with a 3-0 run to take a 6-3 lead at the intermission.

LaGrange came out in the second half with a much-more inspired effort, as Tyler Abrams got the rally going with his second goal of the game. He scored his third minutes later to complete the hat-trick and bring his squad within two as they trailed 8-6 heading into the fourth quarter. Belford earned his hat-trick as well in the fourth quarter to bring the Panthers within a goal of tying the game. After intense pressure from LC to tie the game, the visiting Bees were able to put the game out of reach as they scored in the final minute to hold for the 9-7 win.

Abrams was the Panthers' Offensive Player of the Week nominee, scoring three goals on the day for LC.

Birmingham Southern transfer, Jonah Polhemus, had a solid outing in net for LaGrange, with 18 saves to the Hoover, Al native's credit.
