LC Lacrosse drops tough loss to Centenary on Friday

LAGRANGE, Ga. - Panther Men's Lacrosse (0-2) fell just short on Friday night (Feb. 21), enduring a tough 13-10 loss at home at the hands of Centenary College (1-1).

Game Summary
The Panthers had the early momentum to start the contest, netting a quick three goals to go up 3-0 in the first seven minutes of play. Feeling their backs against the ropes early, Centenary began to put in the work offensively as well, responding with three goals of their own for the remainder of the opening period as LC tallied one more to hold a 4-3 lead at the end of one.

The second period was all-Catahoula as they turned on the heat offensively to jump LaGrange 6-5 with 6:37 left in the half. The Panthers were able to net one more goal before the end of the half to limit the bleeding as they trailed by two, down 8-6 heading into halftime.

LC was well on their way to regaining momentum at the start of the second half, scoring in the first two minutes to bring the game within one. Centenary's Ethan Hewett had other plans, however, scoring three goals in a row to put the visiting Gents up by four heading into the final period.

With their backs against the wall, LaGrange fought hard to reclaim the lead in the fourth period, earning a handful of man-advantage situations to try and find the goals necessary to equalize the contest. Unfortunately for LC, Centenary had the answer for the Red and Black's comeback efforts and despite a late pair of goals to make things interesting, were able to hold on for the 13-10 win.

Panther of the Game
Faceoff Specialist Tristan Cuda led the Panthers in scoring with five goals on the night off 12 shots on goal. Cuda also tallied 18 ground balls in the process as well.
