LAGRANGE, Ga. - The LaGrange College Women's Basketball Team (10-10, 4-7 Collegiate Conference of the South) hosts conference foes Agnes Scott College (2-17, 1-9 CCS) on Tuesday (Feb. 11) inside the friendly confines of Mariotti Gym.
The Matchup
The Panthers return home after an unsuccessful road trip this past weekend (Feb. 7-8), dropping two games to CCS-leading Asbury University and co-middle-of-the-pack adversaries Maryville College. With four of their final five remaining opponents possessing losing records, however, LaGrange will look to capitalize on the opportunity as they aim to bolster some momentum heading into postseason play.
As for the Scotties, they have certainly seen their struggles this season, losing the last five games by nearly 30 points each since their last win against Wesleyan back on Feb. 4. Having never beaten LaGrange in the modern era (2011-Present), Agnes Scott will certainly hope to bring LC's illustrious 25-game series win streak to an end in their own house on Tuesday night.
Players to Watch
Laila Battle was this past week's LC nominee for CCS Player of the Week, scoring 17 points per game in three contests, including a 24-point, double-double performance against Maryville on Saturday (Feb. 8) in which she tallied 10 rebounds in addition to a pair of respective assists and steals as well.
Anissa Brailsford will be the Scotties' key offensive weapon on Thursday. The freshman forward leads the team with 201 points so far this season, good for 10.6 per game.
