ATLANTA, Ga. – The LaGrange College men's basketball lost 66-58 to Sewanee University on Tuesday afternoon at the Jack Berkshire Classic sponsored by Holiday Inn Express hosted by Oglethorpe University in non-conference action at Dorough Field House in Atlanta, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Down by three at halftime, the Panthers came out fighting in the second period, using an early 9-2 run capped off with a pair of free throws from LaGrange junior guard Chadan Hamilton (Boaz, Ala.) with 11:29 left to take a 49-47 lead. But the Tigers answered with a 13-2 run to regain the lead as they held off LC down the stretch.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- LaGrange sophomore forward Kani Rashied-Henry (Tyrone, Ga.) led the Panthers with 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. At press time, Rashied-Henry was ranked in the top five in the nation in blocks per game.
- Sewanee junior guard Reid Carrier (Highlands, N.C.) and freshman guard Nikolas Avaliani (Marietta, Ga.) led the Tigers with 17 points apiece with Carrier dishing out a game-high five assists.
- Hamilton finished with a career-high 12 points with three steals on the day.
- LaGrange senior guard Brodie Scott (Athens, Ga.) pulled down a game-high nine boards with six points.
UP NEXT
- LaGrange is back on the court on Friday when they play host to Covenant College in a 6:00 p.m. game to open their Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) schedule.
- Sewanee plays their next game at home against Centre College, that coming on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
