PENSACOLA, Fla. – The LaGrange College men's basketball team fell to Pensacola Christian College in game one of the Pensacola Classic in non-conference action on Friday at the Arlin R. Horton Sports Center in Pensacola, Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Panthers shot 45.7% from the field to start the contest, as they enjoyed over 11 minutes with the lead which grew to as much as 10 points before the end of the opening half. They would hold a 35-31 advantage heading into the locker rooms.
• The second half seemed to be all-LaGrange, as they held a seven-point lead with just under six minutes remaining. The Eagles would respond with a seven-point run to tie things up at 67-apiece.
• The final minutes were high drama as the Eagles took the lead off an 11-2 run. LaGrange was able to tie it on multiple occasions, but after a late free throw gave Pensacola a one-point lead with under 30 seconds remaining, the game-winning score could not be found as the Panthers dropped a one-point heartbreaker, just their second of the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Micah McAllister (Newnan, Ga.) led the Panthers with 28 points with five rebounds with a pair of steals.
• McAllister, Trenton Dillard (Jonesboro), Brodie Scott (Athens, Ga.) and Tyler Harrington (Winter Park, Fla.) each shot a perfect 100% from the free-throw line, combing for 13/13 from behind the charity stripe.

• LaGrange is back on the court on Saturday when they play Welch College in game two of the Pensacola Classic at 6:00 p.m.
• Hosts Pensacola will play Huntingdon College that evening.
