LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College women's basketball team fell 55-44 to Berry College in a non-conference bout on Saturday afternoon in game one of the CCS/SAA Classic at Piedmont University's Cave Arena in Demorest, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams battled it out in the first quarter, as the Vikings took a four-point lead after the opening frame.
- The second quarter was even more hotly contested, as both squads were able to find their three-point game. Still, Berry would retain their lead up by three at the half.
- LC began to find their rhythm in the third quarter, taking the lead on two occasions as a Red and Black victory seemed to take more shape by the second as they trailed by just two heading into the fourth.
- Unfortunately for LaGrange, the fourth frame was all-Berry as the Vikings clamped down defensively and continued to net the necessary buckets to cruise to a 55-44 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Laila Battle (Smyrna, Ga.) led LC with 13 points and a pair of respective assists and rebounds to the Campbell High School product's credit as well.
- Mya Anderson (Jones County, Ga.) led the Panthers with five rebounds and two blocks on the afternoon.

- LaGrange is back on the court on Sunday when they the Tigers of Sewanee in game two of the CCS/SAA Classic at 1:00 p.m.
- Berry plays their next game against host Piedmont at 3:00 p.m.
