BREVARD, N.C. – The LaGrange College men's basketball team edged Brevard College on the road in non-conference action on Wednesday night in a 92-87 final from Boshamer Gymnasium in Brevard, North Carolina.
THE BASICS
Score: Brevard 87, LaGrange 92
Records: Panthers 2-0 (0-0 CCS) | Tornados 1-1 (0-0 USA South)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was once again a spectacle of offensive fireworks as LC dropped a 50-piece on the host Tornados, who were similarly seeking a 2-0 start to the season. Micah McAllister (Newnan, Ga.) gave LaGrange an 11-point advantage at one point before Brevard cut the deficit down to just six heading into the locker rooms.
- The second half saw the home team capture their first lead since early in the first half as Tyler Baldwin notched the go-ahead layup. The final 10 minutes fell majorly in the Red and Black's favor, however, as they enjoyed a nine-point lead at the 5:49 mark in the half. BC did all they could to bring themselves back in the frame, finding themselves within a single point of getting the game-tying score, but ultimately could not overcome late baskets by the Panthers who notched their second win of the season with zero losses to their name.
