GREENSBORO, N.C. – The LaGrange College football team is headed to Greensboro, North Carolina, to play Greensboro College in a USA South Athletic Conference showdown.
The Panthers of LaGrange (6-1, 4-0 USA South) have won five straight games and remain undefeated in conference play. They are coming off a 30-14 home win over Huntingdon College, the number one pick in the USA South's preseason poll. LaGrange overcame injuries and penalties as the defense dominated for ten sacks, tying a school record, while allowing just 0.2 yards per rush by the Hawks.
Senior defensive back 
Deon King Jr. (Vienna, Ga.) was named the USA South Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after collecting five total tackles, including 3.5 sacks, and forced a fumble.
Freshman quarterback 
Kirk Scott (Richmond Hill, Ga.) had a breakout performance running the option, rushing for 110 yards and three touchdowns off just 13 carries.
As of this writing, the Panthers lead all of Division III with 4.29 sacks per game. LaGrange leads the USA South in total defense, allowing just 261.0 yards per game. Sophomore linebacker 
Ched Smith (Macon, Ga.) leads the conference with 4.71 solo tackles per game.
The Pride of Greensboro (1-6, 0-4 USA South) are led by junior quarterback 
Chase Altis (Stuarts Draft, Va.), who has thrown for 1003 yards and three touchdowns through seven games. Freshman running back 
Kyjuan Westmoreland (Mooresville, N.C.) has rushed for 361 yards with two touchdowns, averaging 6.0 yards per carry.
The Greensboro defense is led by senior linebacker 
Will Pailthorpe (Woodstock, Ga.) with 46 tackles and two interceptions.
Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
