LAGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman cornerback Paul Davis (Tallahassee, Fla.) of the LaGrange College football team has been named the USA South Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending October 4, 2026 in an announcement by the conference on Monday.

Davis, a Psychological Science from Tallahassee, Florida, had a breakout moment for the Panthers on Saturday during their game at North Carolina Wesleyan University. Just 2:18 into the game, Davis blocked a Battling Bishops punt which he recovered and returned for a 59-yard touchdown.

The play set the tone for a 41-31 victory for LaGrange, giving them a 1-0 record in league play and a 3-1 record overall.

LaGrange is back on the field next Saturday when they return to Callaway Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. conference game against Methodist University.
