MARYVILLE, Tenn. – For the fourth consecutive weekend, the LaGrange College women's volleyball team split at their Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Saturday tri-match, this time falling in straight sets to the host Scots of Maryville College before rallying to sweep the Scotties of Agnes Scott College in the nightcap at Cooper Athletic Center in Maryville, Tennessee. The Panthers run their season record to 9-16 with a 7-4 record in CCS action. At press time, the Panther – picked to finish seventh in the conference preseason poll - ranked fourth in the conference standings with five matches remaining.
LAGRANGE 0, MARYVILLE 3 (27-25, 25-15, 25-23)
- LaGrange freshman outside hitter Alex Krabs (Boynton Beach, Fla.) once again led the Panthers against the Scots, tallying 19 kills in three sets with a .161 hitting percentage.
- LaGrange sophomore setter Julia Damico (North Port, Fla.) posted team-highs of 17 set assists and 14 digs.
- The Panthers nearly upset the Scots in the first set, taking a 25-24 lead for set point off the serve of LaGrange sophomore setter Rebecca Miranda (Snellville, Ga.). But Maryville reeled off three straight rallies to take it down, ultimately prevailing in three.
- Team hitting percentage proved critical for the match, as the Scots hit .156 to .094 for the Panthers.
LAGRANGE 3, AGNES SCOTT 0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-18)
- LaGrange freshman outside hitter Danika Durham (Parker, Ariz.) posted a dominant performance against the Scotties, hitting a career-high .529 hitting percentage with eleven kills.
- LaGrange freshman middle-blocker Andie Wright (Columbus, Miss.) tallied seven kills and three aces for her best match of the season.
- Damico posted 14 set assists with five service aces.
