LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College women's volleyball team added a sixth Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) victory to their season total on Thursday, besting the Blazers of Belhaven University 3-2 at Mariotti Gymnasium in LaGrange, Georgia after falling behind 2-0 early in the match.
BELHAVEN 2, LAGRANGE 3 (24-22, 18-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-10)
- The Panthers looked as if they were about to take an early 1-0 lead, as they enjoyed a 24-21 advantage late in the first set. Unfortunately for the Red and Black, however, a sudden five-point burst from the Blazers snatched the set from their grasp as the visitors took a 1-0 lead early in the match.
- LC seemed a touch rattled in the second stanza, as Belhaven continually thwarted their attempts to rectify their first-set loss. The match would fall even more into BU's hands as they snatched a commanding 2-0 lead.
- With their backs against the ropes, the Panthers pulled out one of the gutsiest performances of the 2025 campaign, slotting back-to-back wins to force a winner-take-all fifth set.
- The fifth frame was all LaGrange, as they dominated to cap off a monumental come-from-behind effort to earn their sixth win in conference play.
- LaGrange freshman outside hitter Alex Krabs (Boynton Beach, Fla.) posted an incredible performance, hitting .259 with 27 kills and 11 digs.
- Freshman middle-blocker McKenna Gaskins (Goose Creek, S.C.) played a key role in the Panthers' win, hitting .375 with three kills and five points total on the night.
- Sophomores Julia Damico (North Port, Fla.) and Isabella Zentkovich (Sharpsburg, Ga.) heroically plugged the gaps for LC, combining for an impressive 39 digs.
