LAGRANGE, Ga. - The LaGrange College Women's Basketball Team (9-7, 3-4 Collegiate Conference of the South) takes on the Blazers of Belhaven University (7-9, 4-4 CCS) on Wednesday (Jan. 29) in a regular-season rematch held in Mariotti Gym.

The Matchup
The Panthers come into this contest off a tough loss at home to rivals Huntingdon College on Jan. 25. After edging Huntingdon on the road earlier in the season, LaGrange could not quite pull of the season sweep as the visiting Hawks overcame multiple pull-away efforts to eventually steal the game from LC in a 75-71 final from Mariotti Gym. The Panthers bested the Blazers just a few weeks ago, surviving a nail-biting 72-71 finish from Jackson, Miss on Jan. 7. Winning four of six against BU since 2023, LC will look to return to their winning ways on Wednesday night as Head Coach Destiny Lane-Frazier seeks her 10th win in her first season at the helm for the Red and Black. 

Losing four of the last five (including one to LaGrange on Jan. 7), the Blazers enter this matchup fresh off a heartbreaking loss to Maryville College, who edged Belhaven in a 72-67 overtime bout. BU is one the top offensive teams in the conference, scoring 71 points per game, behind only LC at 75.6. Defensively, they have put up top-three numbers this season, allowing only 63.4 points per game, good for third in the CCS. The Blazers' last win in Mariotti Gym came on Feb. 11, 2023 when they beat the Panthers 82-67. They will certainly have their sights locked on a more recent victory to add to the win column on Wednesday night as they look to rectify their one-point loss to LaGrange just a few weeks ago. 

Players to Watch
Amanda "Mando" Mclendon earned a double-double performance in the Panthers' last outing against Belhaven, scoring 12 points and racking up a career-high 18 rebounds in the process.

As for the Blazers, they will look to Ally Alford to generate plays against LC. After recording 21 points against Maryville on Jan. 25, the Batesville, Miss product will look to build off that momentum and cause trouble for the Panther defense on Wednesday.
