The LC Panthers Men's Soccer Team were handed a tough loss Saturday (Sept. 21) in a fast-paced, physical affair to the William Peace University Pacers by a final score of 2-1.
Match Details
The Pacers generated the majority of scoring chances to start the game, outshooting LC 4-1 in the first half. Their efforts would finally pay off as Danny Romanchok buried the game's first goal to give his team a 1-0 lead late in the first half.
LC turned up the heat offensively to begin the second half of play, capped off by an equalizing goal from
Robel Teshome, who crushed a cross from
Dylan Bailey to knot things up at one-apiece. Unfortunately for LaGrange, they could not slow down their opponent's attack as WPU star Jorge Lemus scored the go-ahead goal in the 76th minute to put the host Panthers away.

Robel Teshome made his only shot-on-goal count, as he earned LC's only goal on the afternoon with 77 minutes played.
Olufunmilayo Said put forth a promising effort offensively also, leading the team with two shots-on-goal in the game.

The Panthers will be back in action tomorrow (Sept. 22) when they host Berry College. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
