Panthers Baseball flies by the Hawks to secure 7-4 win

Tonight (May 2), the Panthers defeated the Huntingdon Hawks 7-4 in game one of the final regular season series. 

Game details
On the mound first tonight was senior Dalton Brooks. In 10 appearances and 58.2 innings pitched, the Sharpsburg, Ga. native has posted an outstanding 2.76 ERA and stellar 6-1 W/L record. His one loss came in the tight 9-7 Belhaven defeat (April 13). The Panthers were the first to score in the final regular season series. During the top of the second, David Smigelski reached home on an RBI by Jackson McElvy. In the third, LC went up 5-0. Coy Phillips hit two Panthers home on an RBI triple. David Smigelski then scored when a wild pitch got loose in the dirt. Adam Dorn closed out the scoring by hitting a sacrifice RBI to put the Panthers up 5-0. During the bottom of the third, the Hawks scored three runs. The game stayed at 5-3 until McElvy hit his second RBI in the seventh. During the eighth, Brooks rotated out for Eli Folds after the Hawks scored. In the final frame, Jackson McElvy scored on a Hawk error, bringing the score to 7-4. The Panthers held on to win 7-4.

Panther pitchers
Tonight's first and main pitcher was senior Dalton Brooks. Brooks pitched in seven frames, allowing four runs off eight hits. He also threw an incredible six strikeouts. 
Eli Folds closed out the game for the Panthers. In two innings pitched, Folds threw three strikeouts and allowed two hits with no run.
