Hawks secure 6-5 win over the Panthers

The final regular season series is all tied up at 1-1 following Huntingdon College's game two 6-5 win.

Game details
This past week's CCS Pitcher of the Week, Eduardo Peralta, started on the mound. In 50 innings pitched this season, the sophomore has posted a 3.60 ERA. During the first, David Smigelski put the Panthers up 1-0 after he singled to right field for his first RBI of the series. The Hawks answered with a pair of RBIs to go up 3-1 through the first inning. LC cut the lead to 3-2 in the following inning on a Hawk's pitcher balk that brought home Colby Zinser. Still in the top of the third, Jackson McElvy hit an RBI single to equalize the game at 3-3. The game stayed tied until Joe Ruth crushed a two-run homer to put the Panthers ahead 5-3. During the fifth, the Hawks scored three runs, reestablishing a tight 6-5 lead. In that inning, Peralta rotated out for Caden Hare. Hare stayed in for just over one inning and then was replaced by Jack Richards on the mound in the sixth. The Hawks would hold on to win 6-5.
