With tonight's 11-4 Semifinals win over Belhaven, the Panthers earned a spot in the CCS Championship. LC will play the top-ranked Maryville Scots tomorrow at 11 a.m. The Championship will be streamed
live here. LC must win two games against the Scots to secure the trophy.Â

Freshman
Logan Willis started on the mound for the Panthers. The Waverly Hall, Ga. native has posted a 5.29 ERA with a 2-1 W/L record in 34 innings pitched this season. Junior Cooper Williams was the first Blazer pitcher of the day. In 29 frames, Williams holds a 4.03 ERA and a 1-0 W/L record. The Blazers grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first after hitting a pair of RBIs. The Panthers quickly responded with an RBI by
Coy Phillips and
Adam Dorn. Going into the second, LC led 3-2. Willis rotated out for
Nash Evans during the second. In the bottom of the inning,
Joe Ruth extended the lead to 4-2. In fourth, Belhaven equalized the game at four apiece.
Benjamin Epperley relieved Evans in the fifth inning. During the sixth, LC loaded the bases with just one out. That is when
Rhett Mixon was hit by a pitch to put LC in front 5-4.
Riley George was then walked to extend the Panthers lead to 6-4.
Joe Ruth came up next and absolutely crushed a Panther grand slam to extend the Panthers lead to 10-4 in the sixth. This marked
Joe Ruth's 354th career hit, breaking the NCAA Record for DIII Career hits. Folds stayed in for one inning before he rotated out for
Nick Morgan. During the eighth,
Riley George flied out to right field for an RBI sacrifice. Heading into the final frame, LC held an 11-4 lead. The Panthers would win 11-4.
Panther pitchers
Freshman
Logan Willis started on the mound. In one inning pitched, he let up two runs off of three hits.Â
Junior
Nash Evans came in for Willis in the second. Evans pitched in three innings, finishing with two strikeouts and allowing two runs off four hits.
In the fifth, senior
Benjamin Epperley relieved Evans. He would throw one strikeout and allow one hit in his lone inning pitched.
Sophomore
Eli Folds replaced Epperley on the mound in the seventh. In one inning, he finished with three punchouts and allowed one hit.
Junior
Nick Morgan came in for Folds. In two innings, he finished with two strikeouts and did not let up a hit.
