The #4 Panthers started the Collegiate Conference of the South Postseason Tournament with a 4-2 win over the #3 Piedmont Lions. This win ties the season series at two apiece. With tonight's win, the #4 Panthers face #2 Belhaven tomorrow at 4 p.m.

First Team All-Conference pitcher 
Dalton Brooks started on the mound tonight for the Panthers. In just over 65 innings pitched, the senior from Sharpsburg, Ga. holds a stellar 3.02 ERA and a 7-1 W/L record. Just recently, Brooks secured his 300th career strikeout. Zeke Swartz out of Blairsville, Ga. pitched first for the Lions. In 70 innings pitched this year, the First Team All-Conference pitcher has a 5-2 W/L record and a brilliant 2.83 ERA under his belt. 
The Lions were tonight's first team to put points on the board. During the bottom of the first, PU placed an RBI double down the right field line to go up 1-0. In the following inning, LC made their first two hits of the night but were unable to capitalize. The Lions would score on an RBI single to center in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded with Panther runners and one out, the Lions clawed their way out of the top of the inning still up 2-0. The game stayed at 2-0 until 
Jorge Fragoso hit 
Coy Phillips home on a single to second base in the sixth. Phillips started this inning by crushing a double to center, forcing a PU pitching change. In the seventh, the Panthers took a 3-2 lead after 
David Smigelski and 
Coy Phillips both hit RBIs. Still in the seventh, Smigelski scored on a Lion error. During the eighth, 
Eli Folds relieved Brooks of his pitching duties. 
Panther pitchers
Senior 
Dalton Brooks was tonight's main pitcher. In seven innings, he threw a spectacular nine strikeouts and allowed just two runs off of six hits. 
Sophomore 
Eli Folds rotated in for Brooks in the eighth. In two innings pitched, he threw a superb three strikeouts and one hit. Both of tonight's Panther pitchers played fantastic. The pair combined for 12 strikeouts and just two allowed runs against a strong opponent.
