The Panthers defeated Maryville College 4-1, tying the three-game series at 1-1 (April 27).
Game details
Sophomore
Eduardo Peralta started on the mound in game two of the final LC home series. In 42 innings pitched this year, the Panama native has posted a 4.29 ERA. Similarly to game one, today remained scoreless throughout the first handful of innings. That was until LC jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. This score came from a great RBI shot by
Curt Bonner that dropped in front of the center fielder. Still in the third, LC extended their lead to 3-0 after
David Smigelski jacked a two-run RBI single to left. The Panthers held a three point advantage until
Gabriel Pallo hit a base runner home during the seventh. Heading into the eighth inning, LC was up 4-0. In this inning, it looked like the Scots were going to score their first points of the day. Despite the bases being loaded and having zero outs, the Panthers escaped the inning preventing the Scots from scoring. In the ninth, Cade Hare rotated in for Peralta after the Scots quickly loaded the bases. The Scots scored one run in the ninth but the Panthers held on to win 4-1.
