The LaGrange College Panthers Men's Basketball Team (2-5) was dealt a tough road loss by Sewanee University (5-3) by a final score of 91-72 Wednesday night (Dec. 4).
Game Details
Samuel Moss and
Kameron McCall combined for five points in the first 2:30 as LaGrange held an early 5-2 lead to start the game. Although scoring at a consistent rate, Moss, who had 10 points in the first half, and his Panthers suddenly found themselves struggling to match an increasingly hot Tigers offense. Sewanee would go up by as much as 10 before it was all said and done in the first half of play, led by a 16-point burst from Russ Marr as his team walked into the intermission with a 42-32 lead.
Down 10 to start the second half, the Panthers were able to rally and bring the score to a much more manageable three-point difference as Sewanee led 59-56 with 11:06 left in regulation. Unfortunately for LaGrange, their comeback hopes were ultimately crushed as the Tigers continued to roll offensively behind Russ Mar and Tre Corrigan, who scored 31 and 16 points, respectively to help their team pull away to a 91-72 victory.
