Box Score The LaGrange College Women's Basketball Team (2-2) earned their second win of the season Sunday (Nov. 17) in a 71-56 rout of the Sewanee Tigers (1-4), who hosted the weekend's CCS/SAA Classic.

Game Details
The Panthers dominated early on as they jumped to a 9-2 lead to start the first quarter of action. Zyhia Johnson led the way with eight points in the opening frame as LC held a 21-9 lead after one.

The offensive showcase continued for LaGrange as Johnson, Britney Chavez and Laila Battle traded buckets to apply even more pressure on the Tigers who struggled to find enough rhythm to match the visiting Panthers. Battle would swish one more three to put her team up 41-25 at the half.

Down by a hefty 16 points, the host Tigers pulled out every tool in the drawer to try and chip away at the Panthers' commanding lead, bringing it down to as much as 11 just two and a half minutes into the third quarter. Unamused by Sewanee's comeback attempts, however, LC reassured their opponents of exactly which Cats held the throne of the South as they reinforced their lead to a more dominant 24-point advantage, up 61-37 heading into the final quarter.

Six different Panthers scored in the fourth quarter, combining for 10 points as they clinched the 71-56 victory to cap off the CCS/SAA Classic.

Top Panther Performers
Zyhia Johnson led the team with 21 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in addition to a perfect day at the free-throw line, making all six shots.

Britney Chavez scored 14 points for the Panthers with four rebounds and a steal on the day to her credit as well.
