Panthers fall on the road to Maryville in tough outing

The LC Men's Soccer Team were bested on the road Saturday (Oct. 5) in a shutout loss to the Maryville College Scots by a final score of 3-0.

Match Details
Just as it seemed both teams were in the middle of establishing themselves, Maryville F Brady Hammer scored to give the host Scots the early 1-0 advantage. The Panthers were able to generate several scoring chances, but could not break through in the first half of play.

Things would go from bad to worse in the second half for LC, as Hayden Tate doubled Maryville's lead with his third tally of the season. The Panthers were only outshot by a single digit, as they put five shots on goal in contrast to MC's six. The minute difference, however, would lead to a three-goal cushion for the Scots as Jorge Graniel scored in the 71st minute to ice the game and seal his team's 3-0 win.

Next Match
The Panthers head back to LaGrange tomorrow (Oct. 6) to take on the Sewanee College Tigers in an out-of-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Panther Field. Click here for links to stream the match with live stats.
