The LaGrange College Men's Soccer Team (4-10-1) was dealt a tough loss on Saturday at the Belhaven Blazers (10-3-4) by a score of 7-1. This was the Panthers final conference game, as well as their final game of the regular season.
Match Details
Before the Panthers could get their feet under them, BU striked. Goals by Courtland Williams and Wesley Bloodworth within the first quarter hour of the game put Belhaven up 2-0 early. LC struggled to muster any momentum but kept the score at 2-0 until 2 quick Blazer goals in the 37th minute by Jeremy McDaniel and in the 39th minute by Ricardo Flores put Belhaven up 4-0, where the score would stay until the final whistle of the first half. Connor DePriest in the last 5 minutes of the half gave LC hope to stage a comeback.
The second half was much of the same for the Blazers attack. Wesley Bloodworth scored a goal just before the hour mark to extend the BU led to 5-0, with Adrian Sanchez scoring in the 66th minute to make the Belhaven lead 6-0. LaGrange forward
Lucas Duke put LC in the scoring with a rocketing goal in the 78th minute, his 7th of the season, with freshman forward
Seth Rome tallying his first assist of the season. Rabby Kipito capped off BU by scoring with a goal in the final minutes to secure a 7-1 Belhaven victory.
