LaGrange soars past the Hawks of Huntingdon at home

The Panthers outpaced the Huntingdon College Hawks 4-1 on Wednesday night (Oct. 16), improving to 4-9 (2-3 CCS). 

Game Details
Both teams opened tonight's match by exchanging attacks deep in each other's territory, but neither was able to get a clear shot off. In the 25th minute, the Hawks nearly slipped a shot past the Panthers' goalkeeper, however, Andrew Cole made a last-second save to keep it tied at zero The game stayed scoreless, until Robel Teshome crushed a goal from about 25-yards out in the 44th minute. LC led 1-0 at the break. 

The Panthers continued to set up strategic attacks early in the second half. Within the first five minutes, LC had already taken three shots. In the 55th, Lucas Duke rocketed a goal past the Hawks keeper to put the Panthers up 2-0. Ten minutes later, the visitors from Alabama cut the lead to 2-1, but LC quickly responded, reestablishing a two point advantage after Dylan DePriest stuffed in a corner kick from Robel Teshome. In the 73rd minute, the Panthers grabbed a 4-1 lead thanks to an own-goal by the Hawks that was caused by Lucas Duke. LC held on to win 4-1.

Top Panther Performer 
Robel Teshome posted tonight's top Panthers performance. The senior forward finished with a team-high three points off of one goal and two assists.

The Panthers are on the road facing off against Middle Georgia State University this Sunday (Oct. 20) at 3 p.m.
