The LaGrange College Men's Soccer Team (3-9-0) was dealt a tough loss at home Saturday (Oct. 12) by the Asbury University Eagles (7-3-2) in a 5-0 final. Seniors Andrew Cole, Nicholas Missert, Robel Teshome, Graham Peruski, Michael Haase, Satchel Hart, Sean Carter and William Perry were all honored prior to the contest's start.

Match Details
Before it seemed that either team could get their footing the Eagles struck early in the sixth minute with a goal from Salat Kipterit as they took an early 1-0 lead. The Panthers looked to have adjusted really well to the early adversity, as things settled back down to a more even keel for over 30 minutes of play. In the 37th minute, however, Eagles midfielder Nick Eller lasered a shot from outside the box which snuck its way past the outstretched glove of Cole to double his team's lead with 2-0 advantage heading into the intermission.

Unfortunately for host LC, their efforts to rally in the second half were bested by AU's move to strike offensively. The Eagles tallied three more goals, as Dalton Fleshood, Jason Flaming and Ryan Kim each found the back of the net to earn a team hat-trick for their squad in the second half and win the match 5-0.
