LC Men’s Soccer celebrates Senior Day with CCS home match

The Panthers look to carry the momentum of this week's (Oct. 9) 3-1 victory into Saturday's CCS showdown against the Eagles of Asbury University. Senior Day celebrations will take place at Panther Field prior to the 2 p.m. kickoff.

The Teams
LC improved to 3-8 (1-2 CCS) following a Wednesday night (Oct. 9) road win over Piedmont University. In that victory, Robel Teshome scored his seventh goal of the season and Lucas Duke knocked in his fourth and fifth. Teshome leads LC with 16 points off of seven goals and two assists. Duke trails behind with 13 points on five goals and a team-high three assists. In his nine appearances, keeper Andrew Cole has posted a 3-6 W/L record and a solid .746 save percentage.

AU is 6-3-2 (2-1 CCS) thanks to Eagles securing back-to-back CCS wins after suffering a 4-3 loss to Piedmont (Sept. 30). Sophomore forward Salat Kipterit has accounted for a team-high 12 points off of five goals and two assists. Three Eagles have spent time in goal for AU this season. More recently, sophomore Peyton French has taken on the role, playing in the last two matches. Through his four season appearances, he posted a 2-0-1 record with a superb .889 save percentage.

Panthers to Watch
Forward Lucas Duke is this weekend's Panther to watch. The junior has placed a team-high 16 shots on goal with five making their way to the back of the net. Duke is coming off a two-score game, so expect the forward to create some LC scoring chances this Saturday.
