LC Women’s Soccer drops home match

The Panthers fell 3-1 to Asbury University on a sunny and 70 degree LaGrange afternoon. Today's loss places the overall LC record at 4-6-3 (1-3 CCS).

Match Details
LaGrange started the match on the attack. After slowing an early Eagles play, the Panthers quickly moved the ball down the field, finding Kaia King near the visitors bench. King continued to push the ball until she hit Kendyl Anderson in front of the net with a beautiful cross for Anderson to put the Panthers up in the third minute. During the 23rd, Anna Wright prevented an AU score by coming out of the goal to stop the Eagles forward from taking a close-range shot. Wright finished the first half with six saves. The Panthers held a 1-0 lead at the break. 

In the 55th, an Eagles shot equalized the game at 1-1. 20 minutes later, AU took a 2-1 lead when an Eagles forward fired a shot from the keeper's doorstep. In the 88th, AU scored one more time to go up 3-1. The Eagles coasted the rest of the way to secure the 3-1 win over the Panthers.

Anna Wright was today's top Panther performer. The goalkeeper finished with an impressive 13 saves on the 20 shots she faced.
