Following last night's loss to the Hawks, the Panthers take on Fort Valley St. tonight at 7 p.m. in Richter Gymnasium.
The matchup
The Panthers are 3-18 (3-11 CCS) and most recently lost to Huntingdon (Oct. 25). Meredith Orton led the Panthers in kills with eight, followed by Journey Oden with five in the match against the Hawks. Despite being sidelined by an injury for the majority of the season, Oden still managed to generate significant power behind her hits in last night's game (Oct. 25). Look for the outside hitter to make an immediate impact in tonight's match against the Wildcats. Fort Valley St. is 10-13 and are coming off of a 3-1 loss to Savannah State University (Oct. 24). Hallea Gibbs leads Fort Valley St. in points, with an impressive 203 on the season. The last time the two teams played, Fort Valley St. won 3-1 in the first match of the year (Sept. 1, 2023).
