DEMOREST, Ga. - LaGrange fell to Covenant and Piedmont in a USA South tri-match on Saturday. The losses left the Panthers 1-9 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

The Panthers won the first set against Covenant 25-16. The Scots rallied to close out the match by scores of 25-11, 25-17, 25-19. LC never trailed in the first set. The Panthers took control of the set with a 7-0 run to take a commanding 23-15 lead. In the fourth set, the Panthers led early 5-1. The Panthers got within 23-19 before the Scots closed out the set and the match.

Kylie Neal led LC with eight kills, while Ariel Modeste and Karson Troth each had seven. irsten Boyd had a double-double of 21 assists and 14 digs. Bre Dufault added 11 digs. 

Piedmont swept the Panthers 25-23, 25-22, and 25-13. LC was down 23-20 in the first set. Journey Oden and Jharia Harris each put down a kill, then Maggie Vo had a service ace to tie it 23-23. The Lions managed the final two points to take the set. In the second set, Harris's kill gave LC a 15-13 lead. The Lions came back with five straight points to take the lead for good. 

Oden had a team-high nine kills to lead the Panthers and Harris added seven. Boyd had 18 assists, Dufault had 16 digs, and Bailey Moss had 13 digs.

The Panthers host Brevard and Maryville in a USA South tri-match next Saturday in Richter Gymnasium.
