Box Score BREVARD, N.C. – The LaGrange College men's soccer team hit the road for the first time in 2021 Sunday during a 5-0 setback at USA South-rival Brevard.
Estevan Berto scored the game-winner for the Tornados (5-1, 4-1 USA South) in the 10th minute. Adam Spencer finished with two goals and and one assist for Brevard, while Sam O'Callaghan and Trystan Wallace tallied two assists apiece.
LaGrange (1-3, 1-3 USA South) finished with 12 shots and held a 7-6 lead in the category during the final 45 minutes. Sophomore Blake Webb recorded a team-high three shots. Sophomore Enrique Hernandez and seniors Asher Hendon and Andrew Valbuena finished with two shots, respectively.
The Panthers took Maryville into overtime in a 3-2 setback on March 7 at Panther Field. Webb forced the extra session with the equalizer in the 83rd minute off a header pass by senior Cam Perkins.
LC defeated visiting Berea, 5-1, on Feb. 28 behind outstanding efforts by Perkins (2 goals), Webb (goal, assist) and Hernandez (goal, assist). Perkins and sophomore Austin Anderson tallied their first goals as Panthers and freshman Satchel Hart recorded his first collegiate point with an assist.
The Panthers will compete against Covenant Saturday at 4 p.m. in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
