BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The LaGrange volleyball team opened its 2014 season under new head coach Jamie Thomas at the MckAttack Classic hosted by Birmingham-Southern. The Panthers went 0-4 in the tournament.

Sophomore Katie Chancellor led the Panthers with 20 kills in the tournament. Sophomore Mary Katherine Schmitz had a team-leading 64 assists, while sophomore Sterling Ancrum added 62 digs. Sophomore Sydney Marshall had 12 total blocks.

The Panthers travel to Sewanee, Tenn. for matches on Friday and Saturday. The Panthers face Pikeville and host Sewanee on Friday. They take on Brescia and an opponent to be determined on Saturday.
