Box Score Methodist used a big first half and went on to spoil LaGrange's Homecoming 2014 game with a 73-28 win over the Panthers on Saturday at Callaway Stadium.
The Panthers are now 3-4 overall and 1-4 in the USA South standings. Methodist improved to 4-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.
Freshman quarterback Connor Blair entered the game in the fourth quarter and led the Panthers to three touchdowns in less than six minutes.
Blair threw touchdown passes of 43 yards to Marsalis Jackson, 39 yards to Kory Schick and 30 yards to Chad Rymer. He finished the game 6-of-9 for 130 yards.
Senior Griffin Roelle set a new school record in the game. Roelle with three catches for 69 yards now has 109 receptions to pass Nick Langley's mark of 107.
Methodist built a 45-0 halftime lead, holding the Panthers to under 100 yards of total offense. The Panthers had almost 300 yards in the second half.
Scott Chewning led the Panthers with a career-high 12 tackles. T.J. Bulock followed with 11 tackles.
The Panthers play at Huntingdon in a USA South game next Saturday in Montgomery, Ala.
