LaGrange College

Dan Schulte has been the head coach of the LaGrange College women's volleyball and women's beach volleyball teams since the 2023-2024 academic year. He brings more than four decades of coaching experience to the role, having successfully coached at almost every level. 

Prior to coming to LaGrange, Schulte coached two years at Louisburg College acquiring a ten-win improvement in his first year. 

Before his coaching stint at Louisburg, coach Schulte ran some of the top club programs in Michigan, Ohio and North Carolina.

Schulte also was the head coach at Oakland University for four years, transitioning the team from a top 20 Division II program to DI. 

Prior OU, he was the head women’s volleyball coach at Syracuse University for nine years, winning 200 career matches and finishing second in the Big East for three seasons. 

Starting his playing and coaching experience in central Ohio, coach Schulte popped up on the national stage in helping University of Rhode Island program become the first and only team from New England to be nationally ranked and receive an at large bid to the NCAA tournament as an assistant coach. 

He is proud of both of his great son’s, Jordan 21, and Jared 25.
