Drew Cantrell

Drew Cantrell has been the head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs since the 2021-2022 season. 

During Cantrell's fourth season with the Panthers in 2024-2024, the team finished 7-14. 

During his third year (2023-24), the Men's Team finished 5-12 (1-5 CCS). The team fell to Belhaven in the CCS Postseason Tournament. 

In Cantrell's second season as Head Coach (2022-23), the Panthers went 6-7 in the regular season, also qualifying for the conference tournament as a 6 seed. Al Robertson earned back-to-back CCS Secon Team All-Conference honors. Karson Troth also earned a spot on the CCS Second Team, marking Cantrell's first women's tennis player to earn CCS honors.

As a first year Head Coach in 2021-2022, the LC Men’s Team went 6-6 in the regular season and 4-2 in conference, qualifying as a 3 seed for the conference tournament. Josh Tullier and Al Robertson earned CCS Second Team All-Conference honors.

He was a four-year member of the Panther Tennis program from 2014-17. Cantrell won 25 singles matches and emerged victorious during doubles action 30 times, which at time of his graduation was the most wins for LC in the modern era (2004). During his college days, he spent summertime back home coaching tennis clinics for the Charles Johnson Foundation. As a junior, he was a runner up for the singles' main draw at the McWilliams Invitational. The following season as a senior, he returned to the McWIlliams Invitational and won the main draw. 

As a freshman and sophomore, Cantrell qualified with his team for the USA South Tournament. During his rookie campaign, he boasted an impressive 9-5 mark in doubles competition, earning All-Conference Third-Team honors in doubles play. The 2017 unit won 10 matches, a program record at the time. In his sophomore season, he went undefeated in ITA doubles play.

The Unadilla, Georgia, native competed as a two-sport varsity athlete at Hawkinsville High School, graduating in 2012. He earned a bachelor's degree in business and sports management from LC in 2017.

Cantrell has been an assistant coach for the tennis program at Callaway High, helping the squad reach the semifinals in each of the last three years. During that time, the program has broken numerous school records, including winning the first boys' region championship.

Last year, Drew married Casey Cantrell (Pruett).
