Tony Talbert enters his third year as the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the LaGrange College Football Team (2025-26).

In 2024, Talbert coached one of the most terrorizing defenses in the country, causing 19 turnovers over the course of 10 games as the Panthers produced the USA South Conference's Rookie of the Year and a pair of first and second team defenders, respectively.

Before moving to LaGrange, he coached the defensive line, special teams, and was one of the lead recruiters at Hampden-Sydney from 2021-2023. He also previously worked with the safeties, and coached Will Pickren to consecutive First Team All-ODAC honors over the two years, and Pickren was additionally named the 2021 Touchdown Club of Richmond State Small College Defensive Back of the Year and Third Team All-Region 3.

Coach Talbert played linebacker and safety at Hampden Sydney College from 2016-2020. At Hampden-Sydney, he majored in business and economics.

He comes from Charlottesville, Virginia, and played at Monticello High School. During his career at MHS he was named All-State linebacker, All-Conference offensive line, and was chosen as the Jefferson District Player of the Year in 2015.

He moved down to LaGrange with Head Coach Wes Dodson in February 2023. He currently resides in Newnan, Georgia.
