Chuck Ehret enters his second season as an assistant coach/offensive line coach at LaGrange College (2024/25).
Ehret comes to LaGrange from Manchester University, an NCAA Division III institution in Northern Indiana. During his time at Manchester, he was the Special Teams Coordinator and promoted to Offensive Coordinator in 2021. As an assistant, Ehret worked with every position group on the offensive side of the ball. Manchester’s 2022 season was capped off with Running back David Smith and Offensive Linemen, Conner Hindman and Austin Ellis receiving HCAC All-Conference honors. Smith finished the season with 1,052 yards on 195 carries averaging 5.4 yards per carry. The Offensive Line lead by Hindman and Ellis not only excelled in the run game but also finished tied for 30th in the Nation in Sacks Allowed, only averaging one per game.
During Ehret’s time at Manchester, the Spartan Offense broke 16 school records. In 2019, running back Donavan Henderson, Jr. rewrote the Manchester record books. Henderson, a D3Football.com All-North Region honoree, finished second in the nation in rushing (1,703 yards) and rushing TDs (20). Henderson ran for a school record 394 yards against Anderson and tied an NCAA record with 8 rushing TDs against the Ravens. Henderson's record day earned him a spot on the D3Football.com National Team of the Week . Henderson ended his Black & Gold career as the school's all-time leading rusher with 3,969 yards and his 53 rushing TDs are the most in school history. In 2017, All-American wide receiver Dakota Nelson finished his MU career as the school record holder for receiving yards in a season (1,116) and total career touchdowns (34). Nelson worked out for the NFL at Ball State’s Pro Scouting Day in 2018.
Prior to Manchester, Ehret spent time at Earlham College, Adrian College, and Defiance College. He has been the position coach for 18 All-Conference players, 5 d3football.com All-Region honorees, three d3football.com All-Americans and one semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy.
A native of Richwood, Ohio, Ehret received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport Management from Malone University in 2005 and a Master of Science Degree from Valparaiso University in 2007.
Ehret and his wife, Jennifer, have three daughters, Kalynne, Kennedy, and Karlee, and reside in Lagrange.
