Breana Sumpter

Breana Sumpter enters her first year as the Head Coach of LaGrange College Women’s Flag Football Team in 2024. She is a dedicated and accomplished coach with a passion for empowering women in sports. Before joining LaGrange College, Breana served as the head flag football coach at Benjamin E. Mays High School. She also served as the school's track & field throwing coach. She holds a Bachelors in Sociology and Spanish from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.

Throughout the 2021-2024 seasons, Breana led athletes to earn 7 individual region awards in flag football including “Player of the Year” honors. As a throwing coach, her athletes earned over 15 combined medals including a 1st place state championship. Throughout her coaching career, Breana has displayed a deep passion and understanding of the game while showing commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. Her coaching philosophy is rooted in the principles of teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement. She prioritizes the personal and athletic growth of her players, instilling values of resilience, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

Beyond her coaching duties, Breana is deeply invested in the development of women's sports programs. She actively advocates for increased opportunities and resources for female athletes, recognizing the transformative impact that athletics can have on individuals and communities.

“I am eager to build upon the players’ existing strengths and develop a championship caliber team.” She is passionate about empowering female athletes and looks forward to making a positive impact on the lives of her players both on and off the field.
