LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College women's soccer team lost 6-1 in the home-opener against visiting Warner University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field in LaGrange, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Panthers held off the Royals' offense until the 10th minute when Warner's Maya Sikhakhane broke through for her first goal of the season. Sikhakhane's second of the season in the 43rd minute gave the visitors a 2-0 halftime lead.
- The second half was all Royal blue as Warner deposited four more. LaGrange freshman defender Carson Wingo (Peachtree City, Ga.) scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the 80th minute to help her squad stave off the shutout.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- LaGrange junior goalkeeper Kendall Lewis (Atlanta, Ga.) posted a valiant effort in net, racking up 11 saves to keep the Red and Black in competitive position for much of the contest.
- Warner's Maya Sikhakhane and Elisabet Rosario each enjoyed a pair of goals and an assist in the winning effort.
UP NEXT
- LaGrange is back on the field next weekend (Sep. 12-13) when they travel to Maryville College to play the Sewanee (University of the South) Tigers in a neutral site matchup on Saturday and the host Scots on Sunday.
