LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Panthers of the LaGrange College football team, coming off their best season in school history in 2025, will open their 2026 season by hosting Point University in the Battle of Highway-29 rivalry game on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at Callaway Stadium in LaGrange. It will be the season-opener for both teams.  

Fans should be aware that tickets may be purchased at the stadium via credit card or tap. General admission is $10 with free admission to children under 12 and to LC students, staff and faculty with a current I.D. Callaway Stadium strictly enforces a clear bag policy, and no pets are allowed.

The gate opens 60 minutes prior to kickoff, while tailgating begins at 4:00 p.m. Outside food and drink will not be allowed in the stadium.

LaGrange returns 16 starters from last year's legendary squad, including senior offensive lineman Aaron Hunter (Dothan, Ala.), who was picked by D3Football.com as a Preseason All-American, anchoring an offensive line that returns four starters.

Hunter is one of seven returning Panthers who earned USA South All-Conference honors last season, including senior quarterback Henry Brodnax (Newnan, Ga.), senior running back Michael Hays (Jacksonville, Fla.), senior linebacker Dezmond Jones (Thomasville, Ga.), junior tight end Mychal Stillwell (Warner Robins, Ga.) and junior linebacker Ched Smith (Macon, Ga.) and sophomore defensive lineman Zymarion Hudson (Cordele, Ga.), the 2025 USA South Defensive Rookie of the Year.

The Panthers have been picked to finish first in the USA South Athletic Conference Preseason Poll as voted by the conference coaches and as announced by the conference on Friday. LaGrange, the defending conference champions, were placed atop the rankings for the first time in program history receiving 48 total points and six of the possible eight first place votes. The Panthers are coming off their best season in school history as they went 10-2, winning the USA South Championship for the first time and reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Skyhawks of Point are coming off a 4-6 season in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
