LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College women's volleyball team opened their 2026 season with a four-set loss to visiting Point University in a non-conference matchup of cross-county rivals on Wednesday evening at the Mariotti Gymnasium in LaGrange, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After pulling away to win the first set, the Panthers came up just short in the second to knot the match up. In the third, LaGrange took a 22-21 lead off a kill by junior outside hitter Ella Kahikina (Tampa, Fla.) But the Skyhawks answered by winning four of the five next points to put the set away, then held on in the fourth for the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- LaGrange sophomore outside hitter Alex Krabs (Boynton Beach, Fla.) led the Panthers with 14 kills and 18 digs. Kahikina posted 13 kills and eight digs.
- Point senior middle hitter Tianna Kynard (Phenix City, Ala.) led the Skyhawks with 10 kills and six block assists. Freshman outside hitter Marley Manning (Milton, Fla.) posted ten kills, five block assists and seven digs.
- LaGrange junior setter Julia Damico (North Port, Fla.), last year's CCS Setter of the Year, recorded 21 set assists with six digs while junior-transfer outside hitter Ella Sprouse (Sneads, Fla.), in her first match as a Panther, had eight kills, eight digs and a team-high two service aces.
- In her first match for LaGrange junior-transfer libero Gabby Bellamy (Sneads, Fla.) finished with 17 digs.
