LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College football team is traveling to Mount Berry, Georgia on Saturday for a 6:00 p.m. game against the Vikings of Berry College in a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament Second Round Matchup that saw the Panthers' 2025 come to an end in an 18-14 loss.
The Panthers (1-0, 0-0 USA South) are coming off a resounding 31-7 season-opening win over Point University last Saturday at Callaway Stadium in LaGrange.
Senior quarterback
Henry Brodnax (Newnan, Ga.) threw for 107 yards, completing 11-of-20 passes with two touchdowns. Junior quarterback
Aaron McLaughlin (Alpharetta, Ga.) provided a spark, throwing for 90 yards off just three completions and rushing for a touchdown. Junior tight end
Mychal Stillwell (Warner Robins, Ga.) caught four passes for 89 yards. Senior running back
Michael Hays (Jacksonville, Fla.) overcame a slow start to finish with 80 yards rushing off ten carries and another ten yards receiving. Junior defensive back
Messiah Scandrett (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied four tackles, a pick-six interception and a fumble recovery that saved a touchdown to lead a dominant defensive performance.
For his outstanding performance, Scandrett was named USA South Defensive Player of the Week while freshman running back
Bakari Hamilton (Peachtree City, Ga.) earned conference Offensive Rookie of the Week accolades.
The Vikings (1-0, 0-0 SAA) are coming off a 50-20 win over Huntingdon College last Saturday in Montgomery and are currently ranked 16th in the nation in the latest D3Football.com poll.
Junior wide receiver
Cameron Coleman (Palmetto, Ga.) was named SAA Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time, leading the Vikings receiving core with five catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns in a 50-20 opening day win over Huntingdon. Coleman averaged 25.2 yards per catch including a long of 59 yards which came on a touchdown in the second quarter to put the Vikings up 29-0.
