MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The LaGrange College beach volleyball team went 1-2 at their tri-meet at Huntingdon College on Wednesday afternoon at Alice Reynolds Beach Volleyball Courts in Montgomery, Alabama, coming up just short to the host Hawks, 2-3, before recovering with a 3-2 win over Coastal Alabama C.C. Finally, facing NAIA power University of Mobile, the Panthers took an 0-5 loss.
LAGRANGE 2, HUNTINGDON 3
- Freshman Alex Krabs (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Julia Damico (North Port, Fla.) dominated at the number spots against the Hawks.
- Freshman Kaitlyn Smith (Buckeye, Ariz.) and sophomore Isabella Zentkovich (Sharpsburg, Ga.) lost 0-2 at the number two spot.
- Sophomore Akajah Burton (West Valley City, Utah) and freshman Jasmine Gross (Antioch, Tenn.) came up short at the third spot, 1-2.
- The Panthers prevailed 2-1 at the four spot behind sophomore Kaitlin Gilchrist (Pelham, Ala.) and freshman Danika Durham (Parker, Ariz.).
- Freshman Riley Curtis (Labelle, Fla.) and freshman Emerson Melvin (Hahira, Ga.) came up just short at the five, 1-2.
COASTAL ALABAMA 2, LAGRANGE 3
- Krabs and Damico lost 1-2 at number one to Coastal Alabama.
- Smith and Zentkovich picked up the win at two, 2-1.
- Burton and Gross emerged with a 2-0 win at the third spot.
- Gilchrist and Durham secured the win with a 2-1 victory at four.
- Freshman Andie Wright (Columbus, Miss.) and freshman Braeden Kessler (North Charleston, S.C.) got the start at five, going 0-2.
MOBILE 5, LAGRANGE 0
- Gilchrist and Durham had the only set win against the Rams at the four spot, before falling short 1-2.
- Krabs and Damico lost 0-2 to Mobile at the one, as did Smith and Zentkovich at the two and Burton and Gross at the three. Curtis and Kessler took the 0-2 loss at the five.

- LaGrange is back on the sand on Friday and Saturday when they travel to Emmanuel University for six matches.
