MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The LaGrange College softball team lost both ends of their double-header at Maryville College in non-conference action on Saturday at the MC Softball Complex in Maryville, Tennessee.
GAME 1 – LAGRANGE 1, MARYVILLE 4
- Despite combining for seven hits, the Panthers only managed one run in game one that scored by senior second baseman Claire Chamberlain (Rome, Ga.) off an RBI fielder's choice from freshman designated player Addison Gibboney (Kennesaw, Ga.) in the top of the fifth inning. The Scots would answer with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and a fourth in the bottom of the sixth.
- Chamberlain went two-for-four while senior pitcher Jenna Yeary (Loganville, Ga.) went two-for-three.
- Yeary had two strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings.
GAME 2 – LAGRANGE 0, MARYVILLE 8
- Chamberlain went two-for-three in game two, picking up the only hits for the Panthers in the nightcap.
- Junior catcher Brooke Coleman (Hiram, Ga.) drew two walks.
UP NEXT
- LaGrange is back on the field on Tuesday when they play host to Saint Mary's University of Minnesota at 3:30 p.m.
