LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College men's soccer team drew 2-2 to visiting Greensboro College in non-conference action on Saturday at Panther Field in LaGrange, Georgia.
THE BASICS
Score: Greensboro 2, LaGrange 2
Records: Panthers 2-1-4, 0-0 CCS | Pride 4-1-3, 0-0 USA South
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pride opened the scoring late in the first half, as Kalle Hermansson buried a penalty kick to put his team up 1-0 heading into the intermission.
- The Panthers answered in the second half, as freshman midfielder Jacob Sagstuen (Dacula, Ga.) snuck one past the crashing Pride defence amidst a mouth-bound scramble to knot things up at one-apiece.
- The match would further roll in the Red and Black's favor, as a second yellow put the opposition down to just 10 men, opening the door for Dylan DePriest (Newnan, Ga.) to head in the go-ahead tally with less than 17 minutes left in the contest.
- Despite LC's best efforts to close out the game, the Pride took advantage of a caromed pass and found the back of the net to equalize the match at 2-2, which would prove to be the final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- LaGrange sophomore goalkeeper Sawyer Williams (Johns Creek, Ga.) made four saves in net for the Panthers.
- DePriest and senior Lucas Duke (Dexter, Ga.) each had two respective shots on goal for LaGrange.
