Rooks Lead Women’s Soccer Past Centenary, 2-0

SHREVEPORT, La. – The LaGrange College women's soccer team won 2-0 at Centenary College in non-conference action on Sunday at Atkins Field in Shreveport, Louisiana.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Just ten minutes into the game, LaGrange freshman midfielder Kennedi Miller (Harris County, Ga.) scored her first career goal on an unassisted shot to put the Panthers up 1-0.
  • In the 24th minute, freshman forward Gabby Worthy (Bremen, Ga.) found the back of the net off a pass from senior forward Kaia King (Canton, Ga.) for her first career goal, and that would hold up for the final score. At press time, Worthy was leading the Panthers in points on the season with four.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • LaGrange junior goalkeeper Anna Wright (Sharpsburg, Ga.) and sophomore goalkeeper Kendall Lewis (Atlanta, Ga.) combined for two saves in the shutout.
  • Centenary freshman goalkeeper Morgan Stancliff (Pensacola, Fla.) tallied nine saves for the Ladies.
UP NEXT
  • LaGrange is back on the field on Wednesday when they travel to Albany State University for a 7:00 p.m. game.
  • Centenary plays their next game at home on Friday when they host Millsaps.
